Kerri McGill

Invocations of Movement & Bliss
12 Jan to 8 Feb

Hokianga Harbour area is a place of overlapping histories, cradled in a potent land. I am here as a visitor, in residence at the Church, to make artwork in response to this most profound place. The task is an overwhelming one and one that puts all my skills as an artist to the test. Art residencies provide a workspace away from typical daily distractions for artists to achieve certain goals. My project is to learn as much as I can about this place and make unique artwork that speaks to its depth, voice and vibrancy.
