JOANNE BARRETT – Ngāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe, Waitaha
Joanne Barrett is of Maori, Danish, and Scottish descent. Her art practice is influenced by the might and spirituality of the Te Waipounamu landscapes and those of the beautiful Hokianga where she currently lives.
In 2006 Joanne had her first solo exhibition at Depot Artspace in Devonport, Auckland, followed by a 2007 solo show at Satellite Gallery in Newton, Auckland.
Since 2009 she has exhibited in group shows at No1. Parnell Rawene, Village Arts Kohukohu, Depot Artspace Devonport, and nkb Gallery Mt Eden.
