Artists explore a curatorial kaupapa that, reflects the mauri and wairua of Hokianga.
We acknowledge the deep connection to and influences
of our spiritual, physical, and social environments.
In curating this exhibition, we are mindful of the artists’ engagement with various elements of whenua in their work.
These elements reflect their relationships with
natural forms, the sense of belonging, significance of place and, the importance of identity and whakapapa. Each of these characteristics interact to form part of
a creative whole.
